First City University College Visit Van Gogh Alive Malaysia

Van Gogh’s life has been the subject of numerous books, films, and other works of art, and his legacy continues to inspire artists and art lovers around the world even after his passing more than 133 years ago.

On 13 March 2023, students of the Design Club of First City University College had an amazing time at the Van Gogh Alive Exhibition at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The interactive exhibit brought Vincent Van Gogh’s artwork to life through stunning digital projections and immersive installations.

The students, accompanied by the team of the Faculty of Design & Built Environment, were able to explore Van Gogh’s masterpieces in a unique way, learning about his life and art style through a multimedia experience. The students were particularly fascinated by Van Gogh’s use of bold colours, and they were inspired by his passion for art and his ability to convey deep emotions through his work. The exhibit truly inspired our young designers, sparking creativity and passion for the arts.

It was a great opportunity for them to expand their artistic knowledge and to see the world through Van Gogh’s eyes. Below are some of the students’ comments about their experience:

“The trip to Van Gogh Alive Malaysia was a fun and interesting experience. In the exhibition hall, I was able to immerse myself in the beautiful and artistic installations world that revolved around the great painter. The exhibition showed me the advancement of technologies where the work of a past great artist can be brought alive”.
