Van Gogh’s famed cypresses, flowers, wheat fields and portraits are set to magnify and swirl around you when the larger-than-life multimedia exhibition Van Gogh Alive is set to land at Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur in December.
The immersive multi-sensory exhibition, displaying floor-to-ceiling projections of Van Gogh's beloved art, including The Starry Night and Sunflowers, will open to the public on Dec 17. It will run daily until March 16, 2023.
Van Gogh Alive is presented by Australia-based Grande Experiences, and the ticketed show is co-organised by FrameMotion Studio Sdn Bhd and Meta Doers World Holding Berhad in Malaysia.
"Make no mistake – this is no ordinary art exhibition. Van Gogh Alive sets aside traditions of tiptoeing through silent galleries and viewing paintings from afar in quiet contemplation. As visitors find themselves interacting with art in ways they never imagined. From start to finish, visitors are surrounded by a vibrant symphony of light, colour, sound, and fragrance that has been described as an ‘unforgettable’ multi-sensory experience," reads the exhibition notes.
Van Gogh Alive has toured more than 80 cities around the world, and bowled over more than 8.5 million visitors.
At the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Kuala Lumpur, the exhibition will be housed in a specially designed and constructed immersive gallery (measuring nearly 1,900sq m) to welcome visitors.
